Germany prepares new arms package for Ukraine

Biden pushes for sale of fighter jets to Türkiye
US President Joe Biden wants to promote the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, according to his national security adviser Jake Sullivan. Biden had made it clear for months that he supported selling the machines to Turkey, Sullivan said at a press conference at the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
During the press conference, Biden’s adviser was asked if the modernization of Turkey’s F-16 fleet, which the United States was seeking, was in exchange for the lifting of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s blockade of the accession of Sweden to NATO. Sullivan said Biden never attached any conditions to the proposed sale.
