The 53-year-old accident driver in Kirchheim unter Teck had to brake after accelerating with his machine and come to a controlled stop, according to the police in Reutlingen. Apparently “due to a driving error”, both wheels of the motorcycle locked up, which started to swing and steer uncontrollably towards the course leader and some other students.
The 55-year-old course instructor was hit head-on by the motorcycle and suffered such serious injuries that he died on the spot. A 35-year-old participant was hit in the side by the machine and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Accident driver in shock
The driver of the accident was not injured, according to the police, but probably suffered a shock and was also taken to hospital by the ambulance service. In addition to the emergency doctor and rescue service, the fire brigade was also present. Employees of the psychosocial emergency department were on site to care for those involved. The traffic police have launched an investigation into what happened. The motorcycle was seized and towed away.
