An eight-year-old French boy was rescued by firefighters this Friday after falling into a volcanic crater in Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) about 100 meters deep, according to a press release from the Galapagos National Park.

The event took place in one of the two craters that make up the Los Gemelos complex, one of the tourist attractions on Santa Cruz Island, the most populated in the Ecuadorian archipelago, located in the center of the island area.
