In the trial of Kevin Spacey for sexual assault, the prosecutor made serious accusations against the American movie star. The 63-year-old is an award-winning actor, prosecutor Christine Agnew said in court Friday.
“He is also, the prosecution alleges, a man who sexually harassed other men,” Agnew said. “A man who doesn’t respect personal boundaries or spaces, a man who seems to enjoy making others feel powerless and uncomfortable, a sexual bully.” Spacey’s “preferred method of attack” seems to be “aggressively grabbing other men in the crotch”.
The Oscar winner (“American Beauty,” “The Usual Suspects”) is accused of assaulting multiple men in 12 counts, including serious ones. Spacey (“House of Cards”) denies the allegations and wants to use the four-week trial to clear his name. However, if found guilty, he could face a prison sentence.
The alleged sex offenses range from harassment to coercion to have sex. They allegedly happened between 2001 and 2013 in London and in the county of Gloucestershire. From 2004 to 2015, Spacey was Artistic Director at the renowned London theater Old Vic. (aeg/sda/dpa)
