Hikers have found human remains in the area where British Hollywood star Julian Sands disappeared in California earlier this year. The human remains were discovered Saturday in the wilderness near Mount San Antonio, local authorities said.
Accordingly, they were taken to a coroner’s office. The identification should be completed within the next week.
Sands, known for his role in “Room with a View,” has been missing since a mid-January hike on California’s Mount San Antonio. The 65-year-old is an experienced mountain hiker who crossed the Andes in the 1990s.
Mount San Antonio, also known as Mount Baldy, is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Range and a popular hiking destination near Los Angeles, California. Due to the bad weather at the beginning of the year, conditions there were difficult. The actor’s brother said two weeks after the search began that he accepted Sands would not be found alive.
