On June 22, Louis Tomlinson, singer of the former boy band One Direction, was supposed to give a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. However, this never happened – a heavy hailstorm led to the cancellation even before the 31-year-old took the stage. At that point, the fans were all already gathered around the open-air stage. The storm caused panic among concertgoers:
About 100 people were injured by the hailstorm, most suffered bruises, some even had cuts and broken bones and had to be hospitalized. The Colorado Weather Service had previously warned of the storm, but the concert should continue until the end.
Louis Tomlinson apologized on Twitter and announced he would be playing a replacement concert.
