A scam artist has secured a free stay at a luxury hotel in India for nearly two years. As the Indian Express newspaper reported on Thursday, the man checked into Roseate House hotel in New Delhi for one night on May 30, 2019. Instead of leaving the next day, he paid hotel workers a bribe to cover up his stay.
It wasn’t until 603 nights later, on January 22, 2021, that the man finally left – leaving an unpaid bill of around 63,000 francs. According to the report, the police have since investigated not only the alleged fraudster, but also several hotel employees on suspicion of manipulation of the billing software. (AFP)
