Nusret Gökçe (39), better known as “Salt Bae”, is celebrated online for his unique style with his 52.3 million followers.
Türke owns more than 20 restaurants for a reason. At his international chic establishment Nusr-Et Steakhouse, he draws crowds – including celebrities – with his exceptional golden steaks. However, if you want to taste its specialty, you have to dig deep into your pockets.
Only: the reviews of the restaurant experience are anything but positive. In New York he even had to close his shop. Not an isolated case: Salt Bae’s cuisine is now also being sharply criticized at his London restaurant, the Daily Mail reports.
“This restaurant is the biggest joke in London”
The restaurant is also about to close, the newspaper reports. As the inscription on the restaurant’s front door reveals, it will “move to a different location.” A spokesman for the restaurant told the “Mail” that in reality the house specialties should no longer be served in the future – the shop will be closed.
Since the restaurant opened in 2019, it has been flooded with negative reviews. Diners are especially attracted to the menu not because of the plated meats, but because of the astronomical prices. Even a gold burger costs $100.
On Tripadvisor, his restaurant is ranked 14,996 out of approximately 15,700 restaurants due to poor reviews. Someone writes: «Rarely ate so badly. The service was rude and the value for money is terrible.” Another person says: “This restaurant is the biggest joke in London.”
Complaints about sexual harassment
Restaurant chain Gökçe has seen better days: four months after opening, the Turk has achieved a turnover of seven million pounds.
However, things look very different now. In addition to the negative reviews, the skilled butcher also has a number of sexual harassment and wage theft complaints to deal with. The procedures are still ongoing. (lia)
