More than 11 million views for ‘Black Mirror’ on Netflix Closing arguments in the Audi diesel trial criticizing the prosecutors

According to Netflix, the currently critically discussed sixth season of the dystopian anthology series “Black Mirror” has already racked up 11.3 million views (58.7 million viewing hours divided by a runtime of 5 hours and 12 minutes) worldwide in its first four days. This is evident from the weekly published top ten Netflix series. They chart the new season at number two worldwide (for the week of June 12-18).

The series made the top 10 series in 91 countries. However, the season is not always well received.

In Charlie Brooker’s “Black Mirror,” the episodes so far had in common that they dealt with the negative effects of technology and media on society and individuals. But that’s exactly what the new season hardly does anymore, it feels different, sometimes just horror or true crime, numerous media and fans worldwide criticized in recent days. It also doesn’t help that stars like Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul or Salma Hayek played along. In addition, some episodes, which run between 42 and 80 minutes, are not as compact as they used to be.

The series “Black Mirror” started in 2011 on British broadcaster Channel 4 and later migrated to Netflix. The fifth season came out in 2019, which is why millions of fans eagerly awaited the sixth. (sda/dpa)
