Meters high flames, fire brigade, police and total loss: Sunday afternoon a family trip in Brunsbüttel in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein almost ended badly.
A 27-year-old was traveling in her Hyundai with her three children (3, 2 and 11 months) when the vehicle suddenly caught fire, as reported by “Bild”. The woman did not even notice the smoke at first.
A baby and two toddlers have been rescued
Only when a local resident alerted the woman to the smoke did she react. Within seconds, the driver had to save herself and her three children from danger. Miraculously, she managed to save all the children.
The fire service was able to extinguish the burning vehicle shortly afterwards. What’s behind the fire? “A technical defect is currently suspected,” police spokeswoman Astrid Heidorn told the “Bild”.
Thanks to the brave 27-year-olds, everyone was unharmed. Only the car could not be saved: the vehicle was a total loss. The police are investigating. (lia)
