The governments of both countries deny such rapprochement

The governments of China and Cuba are already in negotiations for the construction of a joint military training facilitywhich is a possible basis that would further strengthen the suspicions of the American authorities due to the alleged existence of a Chinese spy center on the Caribbean island.

According to North American sources cited by the The Wall Street Journal, negotiations for a new base would already be advanced. If confirmed, this type of infrastructure would facilitate the permanent presence of Chinese troops in Cuba and the possible conduct of intelligence activities.

This Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning limited herself to saying that she was not aware of the problem, which comes just a day after US Secretary of State Antony’s symbolic visit to Beijing ended. Blinken, theoretically to iron out the differences between the two forces.
