TV chef must go to prison: the verdict against Alfons Schuhbeck is largely final Missing at the “Titanic”: search for a submarine with adventurers

The conviction of star chef Alfons Schuhbeck in Germany for tax evasion is largely final. The Munich I regional court only had to renegotiate aspects of asset recovery, the federal court in Karlsruhe announced on Monday.

The court’s judgment was incomplete “because it had not established all of the information necessary to calculate the defendant’s income tax debts”.

In October 2022, the Munich Regional Court I sentenced Schuhbeck to three years and two months in prison. With such a high sentence, probation is no longer possible. According to the court, the prominent chef had smuggled around 2.3 million euros past the tax authorities. The prosecutor’s office did not appeal the verdict. (aeg/sda/dpa)
