There have been violent clashes in several cities in Germany in recent days.

Disturbing scenes are currently playing out on German streets: a clan war between the Lebanese and Syrians has clearly gotten completely out of hand. This is evident from countless videos on social media. Several hundred men attacked each other with clubs, knives and machetes.

The clan members in Castrop-Rauxel (NRW) delivered the first mass brawl in the street on Thursday, the news portal Exxpress reports. The trigger for the brutal clashes was a banal quarrel between children who allegedly fought in the small town. Grown men got involved – the situation escalated completely. Eyewitnesses filmed how the first knives were drawn. A man (23) was fatally stabbed. Now it is being investigated for murder.

As “Bild” reports, the brawl also spread to the city of Essen (NRW), 30 kilometers away, on Friday. Members of a Lebanese family clan and a Syrian gang brutally beat each other up.

Call for revenge

All Lebanese family clans in Germany seem to have shown solidarity. A Lebanese told “Bild”: “The Syrians have made it worse and worse. We can’t stand that.” In Whatsapp groups, several leaders called for the brutality of the clan to be shown to the Syrians.

In return, the Syrians would have formed in front of a Lebanese leader’s restaurant in a park in Essen and beat them with clubs and machetes. In one video, a Syrian said, “We’ll fuck the Lebanese.”

The alerted police forces used pepper spray against the crowd – but that was not enough: an anonymous police officer told “Bild” that it was not possible to arrest or control all the men. (A)
