A submarine carrying tourists to view the Titanic wreckage has disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Boston Coast Guard confirmed to the BBC that a search was launched on Monday to find the submarine.
It is currently unclear how many people were on board at the time of the disappearance.
Occasionally, small submarines are deployed to allow tourists to view the wreckage of the Titanic.
The famous shipwreck of the Titanic lies at a depth of 3800 meters at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. It is located about 600 kilometers off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
The passenger liner, the largest ship of its time at the time of its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg in 1912. Of the 2,200 passengers and crew on board, more than 1,500 were killed.
Since the discovery of the wreck in 1985, the Titanic has been extensively researched. (ball)
