Three people have died in the center of the English city of Nottingham. The city center was cordoned off by the police. The crime scene is scattered all over the city.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Tuesday. Earlier there was talk of a “serious incident”.

Suspect tasered

British media also reported that three people were taken to hospital after a van tried to hit them. An eyewitness said he saw the suspect being confronted by police using electric batons.

“We woke up at 5:30 this morning and heard gunshots – we ran to the window and saw armed police officers getting out of a car. The suspect was tasered,” an eyewitness told GB News. The Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram network said it had suspended all services due to “serious police incidents in the city and suburbs”. Bus lines have been diverted.

“This is a terrible and tragic incident where three people have died,” said Chief Constable Kate Meynell. The police suspect that all actions are related. “The investigation is still in its early stages and a team of investigators is trying to figure out exactly what happened,” Meynell said. “We ask for the patience of the public as the investigation continues.” The lockdowns would continue for some time.
