According to the police, a woman in Austria locked her son in a dog box and almost tortured him to death.
The 32-year-old is suspected of attempted murder and is in custody, a spokesman for the Lower Austrian police confirmed. The daily newspaper “Kurier” had previously reported on the case in the northern Waldviertel region.
The woman would have locked her then twelve-year-old child in a dog box and let it starve. In addition, she poured cold water on the boy several times and opened the windows of the apartment when the temperature dropped below zero, it was said.
