Selenskyj held back in his evening video address on Saturday, detailing the status of the battles. But he said, “Thanks to all who hold their positions and those who move forward.” The president referred to the front in eastern and southern Ukraine, where the heaviest fighting is taking place. Deputy Defense Minister Maliar told the Telegram short message service that the liberation of a city is not reported when the soldiers enter, but only when the position is consolidated.
The Ukrainian government has so far denied reports that the large-scale counter-offensive has already begun and maintains a strict information block in this regard.
According to the army, the Ukrainian army has advanced up to 1.4 kilometers in some places near Bakhmut.
