Are you our user from Tuvalu?

Exactly one person has been granted access to Watson this year from the South Pacific state of Tuvalu. That was you? Let me know.

watson has users all over the world: since early 2023, at least one person from all 193 UNO countries in the world has visited our lovely little website (North Korea is not registered).

Even from the South Seas island of Tuvalu, which is one of the smallest countries in the world with about 11,000 inhabitants, someone surfed watson.ch this year. (If you are this person, please contact [email protected].)

Unsurprisingly, most foreign entry comes from countries with a German-speaking population. The US could owe its high number of hits to the VPNs that series junkies use to secure access to American series (see infobox).

  1. Germany: 57.5%
  2. Austria: 9.7%
  3. United States: 7.9%
  4. France: 7.7%
  5. Italy: 1.3%
  6. Netherlands: 1.3%
  7. Afghanistan: 1.0%
  8. Spain: 0.9%
  9. UK: 0.9%
  10. Indonesia: 0.8%

The big surprise: Afghanistan is in the top 10. But that is probably due to (partly) misallocation of IPV4 addresses. What is striking is that almost every user from Afghanistan only visits watson.ch once, in other countries there are usually a large number of sessions per user.

At the beginning of the year, the world map rapidly changes to watson magenta. In the first 24 hours of the year, we recorded clicks from 171 countries.

And already on January 2, we had almost all 238 countries and regions together. Only a few stragglers remained. From these areas there was the last first access:
