If he had waited 20 seconds longer, this WWM candidate would have been more than 100,000 euros richer

For Silas Kraus, who began his journey Monday night with “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” allowed to continue, threatens a disgrace at first. The candidate from Mannheim decides with Günther Jauch to take only three jokers. And he needs two for the $4,000 question.

But Kraus seems to have really warmed up from this point: he succeeds in everything up to the 32,000 euro question, with a mixture of guesswork, tactical thinking – and good luck on the coin toss. How would you have been?

Since the self-employed tree climber has “unnecessary security” (ie a safety level of 16,000 euros) – as in his job – he takes it easy. This amount is his sole purpose. Günther Jauch then wants to know what he intends with this money.

He wanted to buy two draft horses from the Black Forest with which he would transport wood in the forest. In the summer he then hitched the horses to a covered wagon and drove them to a medieval market, according to the self-proclaimed medieval fan.

Kraus also obtained his coin from such a medieval market, which he consulted twice. Jauch (“Aaaah!”) looks at him in shock, as if he’s just pulled out something disgusting – playing with chance in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” the quizmaster thinks nothing.

Kraus, who has only two possible answers to the $32,000 question, tosses the coin anyway, but then realizes he hasn’t assigned any answers. But: “The coin has heads, so I have to use my head,” he jokes, but then assumes the completely correct answer.

Even at 64,000 euros, the studied nanophysicist takes out his coin. This after he had already ruled out two wrong answers. Jauch’s comment: “The next lunatic here.” But the coin was actually right, and Silas Kraus ends up with 125,000 euros for this question:

Jauch calculates that his candidate could already afford eight horses and wants to know what he would do with the even higher amount of 125,000. The man from Mannheim replies that his big dream is a sailing boat. He would sail around the world with four friends, he was especially drawn to Japan. For that he would have to buy a ship – purchase value: at least 100,000 euros.

When the question is asked, the 32-year-old thinks about it for a long time and finally decides on penicillin – that is very old. Jauch logs in and first sends the viewer into the commercial break. It turns out: Kraus is probably wrong. Günther Jauch says he himself only noticed it 20 seconds after logging in.

The candidate explains his hunch: “I think I messed up.” The reason: he suddenly thought of horse betting, which was already “hot shit” in the 1920s and there was certainly talk of doping.

At least here the candidate is absolutely right again. Small consolation, since he now has to do the make-up of his world tour. After all: he was already sure of the 16,000 euros – so his team did not consist of racehorses, but of at least two draft horses from the Black Forest.
