A 26-year-old man under the influence of drugs attacked a 12-year-old in Urdorf ZH on March 8. The boy suffered such severe head injuries that he has since been in a coma with a severe traumatic brain injury, his family told 20 Minutes. It is still unclear whether he will suffer permanent damage.
The boy’s aunt makes it clear that he did not provoke the attack:
The boy was on his way to floorball training with his best friend when they met the man. He was waving and talking loudly, so the boys moved to the side of the street out of fear, the aunt said.
But the man ran after them, grabbed the 12-year-old by the waist from behind, lifted him up and threw him onto a pallet that was there. He hit his head on the pallet. The perpetrator then hit his head. The aunt emphasizes:
The aunt is shocked: her nephew was probably just an accidental victim, in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is still unclear whether and what damage he will suffer. Doctors may not tell for a few weeks or months.
