The case is clear: we have absolutely no reason to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. No more reason than Halloween or any other commercially exploited and abused tradition.

In any case, Bishop Patrick, who is considered a saint in the Catholic Church and is the patron saint of Ireland, once freed the Snake Island. And that’s why people in the global West – including Switzerland – paint their pints green on March 17 and enjoy drinking to their thirst. Logical, right?
