Outgoing Health Minister Alain Berset has predicted a complicated task for his successor. He advised her to tackle the problems immediately. Even if that means messing with everyone, Berset said in an interview.
Berset was convinced that a member of another party would not better lead the Ministry of the Interior. “You can leave everyone behind, it remains very complicated,” said the head of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in an interview with “Le Matin Dimanche” published on Sunday.
The problems in the healthcare system are due to the large number of players, he told the Westschweizer Zeitung. If he were completely free, he would oblige all healthcare players to meet annually, Berset said in an interview with ‘NZZ am Sonntag’, published the same day.
In both conversations, Berset also emphasized transparency. “I would set up a system where you can see who exactly does what and at what price,” he told “NZZ am Sonntag”.
Berset’s successor will be chosen on December 13. (cst/sda)
