Remove animal hair with rubber gloves
You love your dog more than anything, so it comes with you in your car. However, you want to regularly remove your loved one’s hair from the inside – quite a tedious task.
Our tip: Spray water on the floor, instrument panel and trunk surface. Then caress the areas with a rubber glove: animal hair simply sticks to it. If your car has a windshield wiper, this can also help instead of rubber gloves.
Polish the headlights with toothpaste
Plastic car headlights can fade or turn yellow over time.
Our tip: You polish car headlights with toothpaste to keep having a full view. The cream contains brightening agents that make not only your teeth but also your headlights shine again.
cat litter against moisture
When the weather is cold and wet, the windshield can quickly fog up and you can no longer see the road.
Our tip: Stuff the cat litter in an old sock, tie it up and put the homemade dehumidifier pad in the car. Cat litter absorbs moisture and ensures that the windows do not fog up. By the way, rice works too.
Muffin cups against crumbs
If you indulge from time to time while driving, you know: no matter how careful you are, crumbs often spread all over the car. You can hardly take it out, especially from the cup holders.
Our tip: Place muffin tins in empty cup holders. If the molds get dirty, you can easily replace them.
Adhesive roller as cup holder
If your cup holders are full of muffin cups (see tip 4) or if you don’t have cup holders in your car.
Our tip: Take a big roll of glue, put it on the passenger seat and put your cup inside. You can’t be 100% sure that nothing will spill, but at least the glass won’t topple.
Make your own stain remover
Make your own mix to remove stains on sofas.
Our tip: Mix 240 ml of vinegar with 3 tablespoons of baking soda, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and some dishwashing liquid, scrub with a brush and wash with a damp cloth and leave to dry.
Newspaper for streak-free windows
When the sun hits the car windows directly, unsightly streaks often form.
Our tip: Wipe the windows with a cloth dampened with vinegar and dry with newspaper.
Coffee powder against bad odors
There doesn’t have to be unpleasant odors in the car.
Our tip: Leave a bowl of freshly ground coffee in your car overnight. You’d be surprised how well coffee neutralizes unpleasant odors.
Latch as a fragrance dispenser
If you spend a lot of time in your car, you also want it to smell like your home.
Our tip: Buy an essential oil of your choice and drip the fragrance onto a wooden clothespin. Connect the latches to the vent and take a deep breath.
Lubricate the wipers
Over time, the windshield wipers no longer glide smoothly on the windshield. However, this is not a reason to replace them directly.
Our tip: Wipe the windshield wipers with denatured alcohol and remove the coarsest dirt. However, you should replace the wiper blades over time.
