Kia Niro received the title of “Women’s World Car of the Year 2023”.

Today’s world demands flexibility – and that’s what the new Kia Niro offers. Customers can choose between three electric drives adapted to the respective living conditions. If you can charge it at home, you can have the Niro, an all-electric car. For those who can’t charge, a full hybrid is available. However, anyone who wants to get a feel for electromobility can do so with a plug-in hybrid.

This flexibility has earned the admiration of auto journalists from around the world: this year the compact Korean SUV was named Women’s World 2023 Car of the Year. “With different drives, the Niro caters to the different needs of customers from continent to continent,” says Marta Garcia, Head of Jury from Spain. By the way, he also liked Niro’s look from the very beginning. The Kia SUV also impresses as a family car with its variability. It offers generous space and provides a lot of security thanks to the comprehensive assistants and technical assistants.

This is how the choice goes

The women’s world car title has been awarded annually since 2009. To this end, 63 female auto reporters from 43 countries and five continents joined forces. That means seven more female journalists representing three more countries than last year. The only all-female car jury. In the first step, they selected the winners in six categories from 59 nominees (all cars released between January and December 2022). Among these finalists, they finally chose the Kia Niro as their 2023 women’s world car.

6 category winner

  • Best City Car: Kia Niro
  • Best Family SUV: Jeep Avenger
  • Best Big Car: Citroën C5 X
  • Best Large SUV: Nissan X-Trail
  • Best Performance Car: Audi RS3
  • Best 4×4: Ford Ranger

there can only be one

For Kia, this is the first full success of the Women’s World Car of the Year award. Last year, the Koreans had to admit defeat to the Peugeot 308. The larger Sportage had made it the best family SUV, but failed to reach the overall winner. It was named World’s Women’s Car of the Year for the twelfth time this year. In the past, it has won vehicles from almost all segments, from the Ford Fiesta to the Volvo XC90 to the Mercedes S-Class.
