Since 1969 and the introduction of the Ferrari 365 GTS4, there hasn’t been a front-engined convertible from the legendary brand. No need to stop – the folding works at up to 60 km/h. When the weather gets cold or the wind is blowing at 320 km/h, the electric wind deflector, which can be extended behind the seats, deflects the cold air.

Like its closed sibling, the 4.66-metre-long Ferrari Roma Spider is powered by the famous eight-cylinder turbocharged 620 hp (456 kW) with a maximum torque of 760 Nm and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 3.9-litre petrol engine accelerates the 1.7-tonne two-seater in 3.4 seconds from takeoff and delivers a top speed of over 320 km/h.

Five layers of fabric on the roof

Thanks to five layers of fabric including insulation, the newly developed fabric roof does not swell even at high speeds. Inside, the noise level should correspond to that of the closed model with a tin roof. Weight distribution is 48:52 in favor of the rear axle. An extendable rear spoiler provides maximum contact pressure at medium and high speeds.

The interior of the Ferrari Roma Spider remains largely unchanged compared to the coupé variant, which is 84 kilograms lighter: elegant leather seats, plus three screens for the driver, front passenger and a central control touchscreen in the middle. If 255 liters of luggage space is not enough, you can put a bag or jacket behind the two front seats. Because in the two emergency seats, he cannot seriously crouch, despite the indicated headrests.

The market launch is still as little known as the price. The open Ferrari with the folding hardtop should be higher than the Portofino M – that is, about 250,000 francs.
