Kia is seeing a light right now. While other manufacturers continue to frame the headlights of their new models in the grille, the South Korean automaker actually hides them. Sportage or Niro – the result has always been cars that look extremely independent.

Now, with the newly introduced EV9, Kia is taking its design a little further. The battery electric drive XXL SUV will be the flagship of the new brand. Kia is yet to reveal any technical data, but the third row of seats and the five-door car are expected to be almost five meters long. Striking: Instead of the jagged front like the latest Kia innovations, the EV9 looks angular and clear, like a Range Rover. The front grille is also missing – no need for the Stromer. Future Kia models should be based on the EV9 in terms of design.

Ample space, variable seats

There should be plenty of space indoors. The cockpit has large monitors already known from the EV6. The EV9 also feels like a small minivan: If you order it with six seats, the two middle seats can be flipped in the opposite direction of travel. Driving-related information is still missing: Kia’s EV6 and parent company Hyundai’s sister models are also used by its sister models, so the 800-volt onboard system only for particularly fast charging is certain. With a declared range of 500 to 600 kilometers, the battery should have a good 100 kilowatt hour (kWh) capacity. The market launch for Kia’s big Stromer should be in the fall. However, prices have not yet been determined.
