Whatsapp: You can send these 21 new emojis soon

While there were only 75 total emojis in 1995, by 2023 there will be more than 3,000 people to decorate their text messages with. Despite the large choice, it is always replenished. A total of 21 new emojis are now being added to WhatsApp.

Soon new animals, hearts and shakers on Whatsapp

This is evident from the new beta version of the app, which already contains the new emojis. Among them are new animals, as well as hearts and rather unusual symbols.

A message from “Wabetainfo” shows that a moose, a donkey, a jellyfish, a goose and a toucan will soon be added to the animal category. At the same time, users will soon be able to enjoy lavender, edamame, ginger, as well as a flute, fans and rattles. In addition, the emoji keyboard on Whatsapp is surrounded by a comb, the WiFi symbol, a kind of angel wing and expanded three new hearts in pink, light blue and gray.

But in the future, new gestures will likely be available soon among the emojis, including a head-shaking emoji. There are also two emojis, each representing a hand, which can be used in combination or separately. On the one hand they represent a kind of high-five, on the other hand they can also be used separately as a dismissive stop gesture.

Emojis for Samsung devices are already available

The 21 new emojis were announced in fall 2022 when they included in the official list of the Unicode Consortium. This determines the number and appearance of new emojis so that they can be included uniformly on platforms such as Whatsapp and Telegram, as well as operating systems such as Android and iOS.

However, because the new emojis are currently only included in beta for individual subjects, they are not yet generally available. According to «Netzwelt», however, this does not apply to Android devices, for which there should be a trick.

It should be very easy especially for Samsung devices to unlock the new symbols, by updating to the new keyboard version 5.6.00.51. You will not find the emojis directly under the emojis in Whatsapp, but in the Samsung emoji keyboard, which can also be used with Whatsapp.
