A new cell phone message scam has been discovered. It is difficult to spot and many fall unintentionally.
Netflix has not made a decision for some time on how it will handle users who share accounts. The platform explains that users will need to confirm that the user is within the same address as the main account. It will be mandatory for that connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the main account at least once a month. Otherwise, access to the included profile will be blocked.
Although the measure was initially intended to affect only certain countries, which did not include Argentina, now the company is effectively evaluating the extension of the measure to also affect countries like Argentina.
The lack of information in this regard has raised doubts among several users about how the new subscription control plan will be effectively implemented. Based on this ignorance, cybercriminals have organized a new fraud that is very difficult to detect and that many users fall into.

It is a phishing campaign, i.e. a method of fraud in which cybercriminals try to trick users into doing something -in this case recover your Netflix account- but the real reason is another.
If users fall for the scam, they will be taken to a page that mimics the Netflix site, but is fake. When they enter the trout net, they will ask for payment information to restore the account and continue enjoying Netflix: but the real goal is to steal bank credentials.

Netflix is officially no longer sending text messages or asking for payment information. Who falls for this scam, you should immediately call the bank and ask for the card to be blocked and try to minimize possible damage.
