The 12 most popular sports cars in Switzerland

ferrari sf90

Ferrari opens the tour of last year’s most popular sports cars. And the SF90 hybrid supercar won’t be the last Ferrari on our list. Last year, 45 Swiss took delivery of the 1000 hp race car that was launched in 2020. That’s only half of last year. SF90 drops from 7th place to 12th place. However, three more were sold out of the baby version 296 GTB. Starting at 489,304 francs, it was the most expensive sports car in the top 12 of our sports car race, bringing 22 million francs to Ferrari’s coffers. For this, Dacia would have to sell the cheapest car in Switzerland, the 1530 Sanderos, for CHF 14,390.

11th

Jaguar F-Type

UK car brands rely less on mass and more on class. However, Jaguar’s F-Type, for example, offers a wide range from 300 to 575 hp (220-423 kW). This convinced 57 customers last year – 20 less than in 2021. Accordingly, the sports car ranking dropped two places. Starting at 83,800 francs, it’s one of the dirty dozen bargains. However, with the most powerful V8 at least 155,800 francs must also be paid. The F-Type brought in 4.8 million to 8.9 million francs – as much as 332 to 617 Dacia Sanderos.

10

ferrari portofino

The second Ferrari is also the first of two newcomers to be among the most popular sports cars of 2022. The Portofino is the entry-level Ferrari with a fresh air function. In addition to the 620 hp (456 kW) V8 turbo, an automatic sunroof is also part of the dream car. It takes 14 seconds to open and close the convertible, which costs at least 236,950 francs. With 62 copies sold, the Italians earned at least 14.7 million francs, for which 1021 Sanderos must be sold.

9

Aston Martin DBX

SUVs have also entered sports cars. Aston Martin has not been stopped on unpaved roads with the DBX since 2020 and has also taken its customers off the asphalt. The sports SUV was the UK’s best seller, with 64 sales in its second year. That’s exactly the same as last year’s sales, although it’s two rows up. With a starting price of 209,134 francs, Aston Martin earned at least 13.4 million francs with DBX in Switzerland alone last year. This corresponds to the 930 Dacia Sanderos.

8.

Lamborghini Huracan

Italy has more to offer than Maranello’s red sports cars. Lamborghini is just 40 minutes northwest of Ferrari. The brand, which has a bull in its logo, presents the newest among Switzerland’s most popular sports cars with the Huracán in its logo, which can produce up to 640 hp (470 kW). Last year, 68 customers tamed the wild bull. At a starting price of 239,000 francs, this meant sales of 16.3 million francs, or 1129 Dacia Sanderos.

7

Lamborghini Urus

Seventh place goes to Lamborghini. The Italians revised the 666-hp sports SUV Urus last year, so sales fell from 111 to 79 units, slipping two places. However, the best-selling Lambos SUV, which cost at least 237,500 francs, remained in Switzerland and played at least 18.8 million francs in the bull vault in Sant’Agata Bolognese. For this, Dacia would have to sell the 1304 Sandero.

6

ferrari rome

Baby Ferrari Roma falls off the podium. 85 pieces arrived in Switzerland last year. That’s 31 less than in 2021 and three rows more expensive than the 620 hp (459 kW) V8 coupé. With a starting price of 231,000 francs, Maranello earned a minimum of 19.6 million francs from the Roma in Switzerland. Equivalent to 1364 Dacia Sanderos.

5

ferrari f8

The second Ferrari, which took the podium in 2021, also loses its place on the podium in 2022. The 720 hp (530 kW) F8 drops from 2nd to 5th 87 units were sold in Switzerland after 177 units last year. At a starting price of 264,280 francs, this still equates to at least 23 million francs in sales – namely the 1598 Dacia Sanderos.

4

ferrari 812

The next and last Ferrari is in fourth place for the third year in a row. After two models that took the podium in 2021, the Italians failed to reach the podium of Switzerland’s most popular sports cars last year. Exactly as an example from the F8, the V12 racer 812 has become Ferrari’s new Swiss bestseller. 88 people preferred the 800 hp 812, which cost 342,710 francs, which the traditional Italian brand sold for 30 million francs. This corresponds to the 2096 Dacia Sanderos.

3

Bentley Continental

The third sports car from the island managed to take the podium. Compared to 2021, four more copies arrived in the English Channel. Bentley Continental GT with at least 550 hp (404 kW) found 106 first owners in our country last year. The luxury athlete, who cost 220 thousand 400 francs, earned at least 23.4 million francs. Equivalent to 1624 Dacia Sanderos.

2

mercedes amg gt

With up to 730 hp (537 kW), the Mercedes-AMG GT made the biggest leap from 8th to 2nd place. With 114 units, 28 more were sold compared to 2021. Not bad considering that Mercedes has only processed the last few orders. Because the AMG GT is discontinued in favor of the SL, it can no longer be ordered. It brought in another 18.4 million francs, at a price of at least 161,100 francs. Dacia would have to sell the 1276 Sandero for this.

one

Porsche 911

Producing up to 650 HP (478 kW), the Porsche 911 is by far one of the best-selling sports cars in Switzerland. The icon was sold 1094 times (+52 units). Prices for the “Sport Classic” models range from 137,100 to 338,900 francs. If Porsche had only sold the entry-level version, the Germans would have already sold close to 150 million francs. But we know that the Swiss are not stingy with cars. In any case, that’s 10,423 Sanderos, three times what Dacia sold last year.

And this is the Dacia Sandero, currently the cheapest new car in Switzerland, starting at CHF 14,390. Romanians earned at least 44.9 million Swiss francs by selling the 90 or 110 hp (67 or 81 kW) small car 3,117 times. Dacia got more with the Sandero than individual sports cars recorded – with the exception of the 911er.
