On December 28, the second season finale of “7 vs. Wild” appeared on YouTube – in fact, five contestants made it to the end. The ranking, which was announced at the end at a campfire, caused a surprise. Last year’s winner, Fritz Meinecke, only finished third, behind Otto and wild card candidate Joris.
While the episode offers an emotional moment as Otto and Fritz pick up Knossi, there’s also some frustration on the part of fans. The episode is actually quite short and is missing a feature from the last season.
Criticism of the “7 vs. Wild” finale.
The last episode has a running time of almost 36 minutes and is therefore shorter than the previous finale (43 minutes). In this episode in particular, the fans had hoped for more, especially when compared to the regular editions, some of which were almost feature-length. Reunion conversations among the participants were not enough for this viewer:
You stretch each episode to almost 1.5 hours and the almost most important episode rushes through in 30 minutes 🙁
What about conversations between the participants! I want to see exchange etc. The thing would have deserved the 1.5 hours.
Nevertheless, a great season #7vswild— Oliver Kossin (@Cadien1) December 28, 2022
Elsewhere, the finale is even called “loveless”. In the last episode of the previous season, a separate campfire was shown in between, where the stars of the network shared their experiences of the past few days. A similar debriefing is now missing – and missed by the public.
I love the show, but the finale really felt pretty lifeless compared to other episodes. And more according to the motto “finally over, let’s do it quickly” #7vswild

The comparison with a “botched German exam” also applies on Twitter. “The most important part of the text somehow spat on paper because there was no more time,” the bitter conclusion reads:
The last episode or the selection of the length and content of the episode was like a messed up German exam in the past: the introduction was embellished forever and the most important part of the text somehow spat on paper because there was no time more laundry.
The last episode was really bad.#7vsWild— tipping 12⚽ (@Schonaldinho) December 28, 2022
This person also comes to the conclusion: “The campfire was nicer in the first season.”
#7vswild Was great. I loved the reunion, but the campfire was more fun in the first season. Still a great season. I just would have liked to hear how the individual participants discussed it.

Constant advertisements annoy viewers
In addition, by the way, the advertising was annoying at times – especially given the generally quite short run time.
Everyone had a little bit more #7vsWild in his #YEat-To advertise?

Because every time a participant was picked up by the team, he was immediately handed a bottle of y-Food. He was then filmed in front of a scenic island in the background, looking at the drink and taking a long swig from the bottle.
Reference was also made to the special “7 vs. Wild” edition and how good such a drink is after seven days on the island.
The company is one of the main sponsors of the format and has also been promoted for previous installments.
“7 vs. Wild”: This is how the stars perform
In the end, Knossi in particular won the prizes, although he ‘only’ took fourth place. Only a few expected him to endure even to the end. He could hardly believe it himself – his competitors Fritz Meinecke and Ottogerd Karasch felt the same way.

At the bottom of the rankings, of course, are Nova and Sabrina, who volunteered. Sascha stands in front of them.
In addition, the “7 vs. Wild” finale also revealed how much weight each contestant lost during their time on the island. In that respect, Knossi is at the top. After seven days, he weighed 9.4 kilograms less than when he arrived.
