Elon Musk is burying the hatchet with Apple for now

Twitter boss Elon Musk seems to have calmed down after his verbal attacks on iPhone manufacturer Apple. Musk tweeted Wednesday (local time) that he had a “good conversation” with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Musk apparently visited Cook at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Among other things, the two had “cleared up the misunderstanding” about a reportedly imminent removal of the Twitter app from Apple’s App Store. Cook made it clear that his group never considered this. Apple initially declined to comment.

Musk had sharply attacked Apple before. In a series of tweets on Monday, he questioned whether Apple hated free speech in America as the company largely stopped advertising on Twitter after selling to him. He then claimed that Apple threatened to kick Twitter out of the App Store without explanation.

Musk also complained about an alleged “secret” fee paid to Apple for App Store purchases — amounting to a known revenue share of up to 30 percent. (con/sda/dpa)
