According to Elon Musk: Twitter checkmark won’t be available again for another two weeks

Twitter will not re-enable the ability to purchase a verification check on subscription payments for two weeks, Elon Musk announced.

The feature was quickly suspended following a spate of brand and celebrity fake accounts. New Twitter owner Elon Musk then announced that they would be reintroduced at the end of this week. Now the subscription should not be available again until November 29, Musk wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, Twitter had implemented the reorganization announced by Musk in the allocation of ticks. So far, they have been awarded to celebrities, politicians and companies after an audit by Twitter. According to the new model, anyone who pays eight dollars a month gets the slap.

There is no identity check. The tick looks the same in both cases. Whether you are dealing with a previous, actually verified account or with a new, purchased tick only becomes clear from the text after clicking on the symbol. (sda/dpa)
