Conforama Reportedly Hacked, Ransomware Gang Threatens Mass Leak

The ransomware gang ALPHV (aka BlackCat) threatens French furniture retailer Conforama with the release of stolen documents. A ransom note has been published on the criminal organization’s leak page. The hackers claim that they got their hands on more than a terabyte (TB) of data.

There is no indication that Swiss Conforama customer data is affected.

The IT security researcher Soufiane Tahiri pointed out the blackmail case via Twitter on Friday:

A French company specializing in ransomware monitoring said Thursday, based on the documents it had reviewed, that it was mostly business-to-business data, not customer data.

According to “Le Parisien”, the group involved said they were “just old stolen documents from the Spanish and Portuguese subsidiaries”.

Conforama Switzerland was sold in 2020 to a local group of investors. Austrian furniture giant XXXLutz, which had previously acquired Möbel Pfister and several Interio furniture stores, and owns the French national company Conforama, is involved.
