Two years late: production delay at Tesla’s Cybertruck

Tesla’s pickup is apparently still having problems with the start of production. Mass production is not expected to begin until late 2023.

Tesla’s Cybertruck amazed fans of the brand with its spectacular design. But the pick-up project still faces initial difficulties: as the Reuters news agency reports, larger-scale production won’t start until the end of next year, two years later than planned, according to two insiders.

When the model was presented at the end of 2019, there was still talk of a market introduction in 2021. The date was always pushed back. The latest status was a statement from Tesla boss Elon Musk at the presentation of the current quarterly figures that would start in mid-2023.

For those interested who have been given an option on the vehicle designed as with an ax for 100 dollars, that means waiting another six months. And for Tesla, this means that the revenues from the model still have to be declared for six months: at the presentation of the car, a starting price of just under $40,000 (excluding taxes) was announced. Elon Musk has already announced that it must now go higher. Reasons include inflation and higher costs.

Different variants are planned with one, two or three engines, which should have a range of up to 800 kilometers.
