Apple’s virtual reality glasses come out on August 2

‘Apple Vision Pro’, a set of mixed reality glasses and headsets that offer virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences users, will arrive on the US market on February 2, Apple announced today in a press release.

The product will be sold in both the company’s brick-and-mortar stores and its online store, for now only in the United States, and will be available for pre-order starting January 19 for a starting price of $3,499.

In the hours after the announcement, Apple shares rose 1.20%, in contrast to the poor performance it achieved last week, when two financial institutions reduced the attractiveness of their securities due to weak sales of their new iPhone.

The glasses and headphones will come amid falling revenue for the company, whose sales fell for a fourth straight period in the latest fiscal quarter after sales in China fell due to a slowing economy and increased business competition.

Apple Vision Pro will compete with other virtual reality offerings from rival companies such as Meta, which this fall launched a mixed-reality device called the Meta Quest, similar to what the company will sell with a bitten apple.

‘Apple Vision Pro’ technology lets you access apps by looking at them, touching them with your fingers, moving your wrist or using the virtual keyboard to type.

It also offers an immersive experience where the user can place themselves inside landscapes, video games or movies.

According to the company, users can also view full-size photos and videos they’ve previously taken with their iPhone.

On the other hand, in video calls through Facetime and other applications, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, Participants will appear life-size, and other people involved in the call will be able to see their facial expressions and hand movements.

“Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine the way we connect, create and explore,” said Tim Cook, the company’s CEO, in a statement.
