Terry, Nadine and Luana (left to right) are looking forward to their big adventure in the all-electric Astra.

The route features short days, night driving, snow, ice and storms, with temperatures dropping to -30° Celsius: Terry (31), Nadine (30) and Luana (26) take on the challenge and the Swiss Opel team joins the eNordkapp Challenge . Three friends, who met by playing games, travel to Nordkapp, which runs entirely on electricity. The northernmost point of mainland Europe is known for its breathtaking northern lights and unique scenery, but is also characterized by harsh living conditions.

In less than three weeks we will go to Nordkapp and return with the new Opel Astra Electric. The trio started on 25 December, with the first stage destination being Handewitt (D). «We met with the other nine teams in the competition and exchanged ideas. Everyone is very motivated and looking forward to the adventure,” says Nadine. From Germany we drove directly via Denmark to Frederikshaven and from there the ferry took them to Gothenburg, Sweden. “The roads were already covered in snow, our car performed great and we felt great behind the wheel,” says Terry. “With snow and ice, the journey will definitely be even more challenging,” adds Luana. “But we are paying close attention to the roads and are happy to be getting closer, meter by meter, to our destination.”

On December 29, the players arrived in the ski resort of Lillehammer, Norway.

By the way, you can see live where the three are right now here. All three are expected to arrive at Nordkapp on January 3.

Expectations and fears

A true adventure of a lifetime awaits players. What are the three most anticipated e-Musketeers? “Time spent together, spontaneity and the northern lights,” says Nadine. The latter is at the top of everyone’s wish list. “The starry skies at Nordkapp must also be breathtaking,” adds Terry. “I love adventure and I love traveling,” says Luana. «I like challenges too and this challenge is definitely a challenge. We are a great team, I’m really looking forward to our journey.”

However, there are also difficulties to be overcome. “I have great respect for the weather and road conditions that we have not yet been able to evaluate,” says Nadine. “I’m scared of a big animal suddenly running out into the street,” says Terry. “But I have great confidence in our new electric Opel Astra and feel safe behind the wheel.” The trio is also worried about the coming freezing cold and darkness. “We carry vitamin supplements and adequate warm clothing that we normally wear when skiing,” says Terry.

Air your head and stretch your legs

Long-distance travel in an electric car – even in the cold winter months? The three now want to prove it’s possible. Even if they have little experience with electric cars. “I usually travel by public transport, but so far I have only been a passenger in electric cars,” says Nadine. The same thing happens to Terry. «I am someone who never takes a break while driving. We have to take a break from charging with the new Opel Astra Electric. “I think it’s great because it allows us to clear our heads and stretch our legs.”

What challenges will Terry, Nadine and Luana overcome in the eNordkapp Challenge, what adventures will they experience and whether they will see the Northern Lights? We’ll stay tuned and wish you safe travels!
