Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD will build its first factory on European soil in Hungary. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced this on Friday in Budapest.
The production facility will be built in the southern Hungarian city of Szeged and will employ several thousand people.
It is one of the largest investments in Hungarian history, Szijjarto said. He did not mention a specific investment amount.
