Seeds for The Future, better known as Seeds for the Future, an initiative between Huawei Technologies and higher education institutions to strengthen support in the education and ICT sector of Panama, closed in 2023.
A program that aims to influence Panama Technological Education10 Panamanian students with a high academic profile graduated who obtained their official certification by completing the technological courses of the program developed in October 2023, in San José Costa Rica.
During the ceremony, the innovations developed as part of the 2023 edition of the program were shared, as were the changes implemented in the course methodology at the level of Panama and in the region. Central America and the Caribbean.
92 students participated in the 8-day hybrid program with INCAE Institute mentors to develop their ideas and competitive group projects. Through leadership workshops, teamwork, technology and cultural exchange, including local interaction activities in San José, Costa Rica.
The event started with the reception of guests, followed by a tour of the office Huawei in Panama and the Huawei Innovation Center. In addition to students, various strategic allies were also present, such as University of Panama, Technological University of Panama, Latin University, Inter-American University of Panama, and the China-Panama Association.
The agenda discussed the possibilities of Huawei’s ICT talent development plan, which includes internships, professional career development plans and company professional success stories, to encourage university students to continue developing their skills as future leaders in ICT matters.
The 3 best from Panama stood out, namely: Ana Zuleta, student Maritime and port engineering at UTP, Ana Arias, psychology student at UIP and Robert Lu Zheng, system and computer engineering student at UTP.
The award ceremony ended with a presentation Smart watches, Huawei Watch who fit into the first three academic places in the program and with a gift of Huawei “pioneers” books to each of the students in exchange for their participation and effort in the program.

Since 2015, more than 130 students have participated in the Seeds for program The future in Panama, and more than 60 students participated in our Internship Program since 2019, where they learned and practiced global digital technologies, as well as solving problems through innovation.
