Auto Zurich 2023 has been history since last Sunday. And it ends with a record that delights the organizers. The 62,028 tickets sold during the official four days of the exhibition represent a record number of visitors for Auto Zurich 2023.

But it is not just the number of visitors that represents a new record: 60 brands presenting more than 80 new products at the trade fair are also a record in the 36-year history of the auto show. Judging by the multitude of brands represented, Auto Zurich is one of the most diverse motor shows of its kind. Moreover, Auto Zurich Media Day got off to a spectacular start with its premiere: 165 accredited media representatives, a total of 22 product premieres.

Gained content and popularity

The EV Experience once again met with an unexpectedly strong response from exhibitors and visitors. Nearly 1,300 test drives were carried out with 22 different electric vehicles. This corresponds to a 30 percent increase compared to 2022. With the positive mood among visitors as well as exhibitors, Auto Zurich very successfully bucks the general trend of eliminating the classic car exhibition format. In contrast to these other trends, the 36th Auto Zurich has made a huge gain in both content and popularity. And this is the third time in a row.

Karl Bieri, President of Auto Zurich, sees this success as a strong signal for importers and dealers in Switzerland: “This year’s Auto Zurich was a great success and a breakthrough in terms of Swiss mobility behaviour. The enthusiastic and fascinated visitors impressively demonstrate people’s great interest in the mobility of the future and reflect the belief that the sustainable and digital automobile will play a central role in this.

Ines Nägeli, Managing Director of Auto Zurich, interprets the numerous product launches as a strong exit signal: “Here in Zurich, the automobile industry has shown the will and innovative strength it needs to make change a common success story.” The next Auto Zurich will take place at the Zurich Trade Fair between 7-10 November 2024.
