We don’t know where Vladimir Putin buys his furniture, but it’s probably not Ikea.
And so also at the table where the Russian despot welcomed the Russian religious representatives this week.
While thirteen religious leaders sit next to each other seat by seat on one side, Putin claims the other half for himself.
The reactions
This is a reference to the 19 kilometer long Kerch Bridge that Russia built on occupied Ukrainian territory. And which has been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian forces because it is an important supply route for the Russian invaders on the Crimean peninsula.
Why exactly Putin wanted to sit so far away from everyone else is unclear, the ‘Blick’ noted. “It could be an expression of his power. Or the fear of an assassination attempt.” There is also speculation that the Kremlin boss is afraid of Corona and wants to protect himself against viruses by keeping his distance.
However, the latter seems unlikely for two reasons: it is known that the virus is also spread indoors by asymptomatically infected people in the form of small air particles (aerosols). However, the people in the St. Catherine’s Hall certainly had to undergo one or more corona tests before they were allowed to meet the paranoid Russian despot.
