In which areas is the use of artificial intelligence recommended?

Generative artificial intelligence (IAG) can be a very rich resource for teams to improve their work, although it requires learning how to properly use technology tools in organizations, warns Damián Ramos, vice president of data and analytics at Experian Spanish Latam

According to experts, there are areas in which it is advisable to apply it and others in which one should be more careful, especially if one thinks about situations in which the information generated may cause bias, ethical problems or even constitute a security breach for companies.

For Ramos it is a technological opportunity a huge impact on many industries and a field that has yet to be studied in order to learn how to apply it.

“A big part of the work we do as people is to bring our work team together and enrich the exchange of information and capabilities. Of course, we can rely on insights, but as long as we verify and review the information we receive from the IAGs,” Ramos emphasizes.

In this context, the expert describes in detail some of the areas in which a correct and responsible use of IAG and other limitations that may arise for this artificial intelligence.

– Effective processing of information: Thanks to its high processing speed, today’s IAG can accelerate the review of extensive databases, facilitating the filtering, categorization and identification of key ideas that enrich business projects. Evaluation and analysis of these ideas will still require human supervision to infuse the necessary strategic knowledge into the data provided by the machine.

– Customer service experience: Nowadays, it is possible to personalize care through artificial intelligence. The limited interaction with chatbots that offer only predefined options is often commented on, resulting in user dissatisfaction when they do not find appropriate solutions. IAG has the potential to raise the quality of customer service not only by solving problems, but also by guiding customers to make informed decisions about their requirements. These tools could offer companies the opportunity to fine-tune their offerings based on each customer’s individual needs.

-Re-skill: AI can help virtually every area of a company, from IT areas where this tool can help developers, to marketing areas for content generation and finance areas for data processing. This implies that people acquire new knowledge and technological skills and can enrich the productivity of their areas within the company and reduce operational tasks that take away their time from devoting to the creative and strategic aspects of their business.

What are its limitations?

-Biased content or with incomplete information: Using IAG as a source and not verifying the data can lead to inaccurate, biased and misleading results. It is therefore important that, despite the creation of new information, humans maintain the data review systems provided by artificial intelligence software. Much of the information that IAG has or has on file may be unverified or out of date. It is always better to take verified and recent sources to avoid generating information that may be incomplete or biased.

– Data management: There is a process of learning to use it IAG, so information security risks can be one of the concerns of companies; So, depending on the different purposes of using these tools, companies must evaluate which is the best solution and to what extent they can apply IAG within the corporate space.
