Excitement is guaranteed at Rimac Nevera. Four electric motors with a total power of an incredible 1914 hp accelerate the Croatian hypersports car to 100 km/h in less than two seconds – theoretically top speed is only reached at over 400 km/h! The electric high-flyer of inventor and Rimac owner Mate Rimac (also interesting: the Elon Musk of the Balkans) has broken more than 20 records so far – Nevera broke the electric series vehicle record at the infamous Nürburgring (D). . Blick recently had the opportunity to try out how the Croatian hypercar fares exclusively around the Andermatt RI (click here for the drive report).

Rimac will also pursue records on asphalt starting from 2024. Later, the rollercoaster “Voltron Neverapowered by Rimac” will open in the brand new Croatia-themed area at Europapark Rust (D). The ride by German roller coaster manufacturer Mack Rides is the first new major roller coaster at Germany’s largest theme park in 12 years and aims to immerse visitors in the electrical experiments of Croatian engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla (1856–1943).

Longer, faster, steeper

Measuring 1,385 meters long, Voltron Nevera is the longest multiple launch coaster on the continent: Europapark’s 14th roller coaster has almost 300 stators that will accelerate the trains four times like a catapult to speeds of up to 90 km/h; one of them is backwards. When it opened, the ride also held the record for the most accelerated sections of a roller coaster in Europe. A 2.2-second upside-down stage in weightlessness is also planned.

The roller coaster is the longest in Europe with inversions (loops and screws) and the 6th longest inverted roller coaster in the world. In the statement made by Europapark, it is stated that the world’s steepest launch of 105 degrees provides “a completely new dimension of adrenaline immediately after the catapult launch”.

Zurich residents taking part in the construction

The collaboration between electric car manufacturer Rimac, which also owns luxury sports car manufacturer Bugatti, and Europapark for two years was announced with great fanfare on the Croatian holiday island of Hvar, with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković (53) accompanied by Mate Rimac. ) was also there. Project manager and roller coaster developer at Europa Park, Patrick Marx (33), is a Swiss national who also played a key role in the construction of the new Voltron Nevera roller coaster: “The new coaster is a custom-made, unique piece that only exists once in the world. Zurich “We have taken the driving experience to a higher level than ever before,” the native explains in suburban newspaper 20 Minuten.

Construction of the Croatian-themed area will follow the completion of Voltron Nevera. Europapark writes that the first construction phase, including the roller coaster and the station building, will cover approximately 20,000 square meters. The station, with its striking structure on the East Coast of the USA, will be reminiscent of the Wardenclyffe Tower of Nikola Tesla, who wanted to realize his dream of wireless transmission of electrical energy over long distances.
