Peugeot 408 has already created excitement. Now there is a sequel worth seeing with the e-3008; Another SUV coupé, but this time fully electric. Peugeot has big plans for electrification in the coming years. So far, both the range of electric vehicles and drives have been quite manageable.

This will change starting next year. The Peugeot e-3008 is the first model of the newly developed STLA platform, which will carry a large number of models of the Stellantis Group. The market launch of the Peugeot e-3008, which rolls off the assembly line at the Sochaux (F) plant, will be held next February.

Driver selection

The 4.54-meter-long electric crossover will be available with three engine options, front-wheel drive and 210 hp (154 kW) or 230 hp (169 kW), as well as 320 hp (235 kW) all-wheel drive. “The launch of the new Peugeot e-3008 is an important step in Peugeot’s transformation into a compelling 100 percent electric brand that sets new standards in design, driving pleasure and efficiency,” says Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson (64).

The interior of the E-3008 is as much a sight to see as the outside: the 21-inch flat screen is generously sized and, following the BMW example, extends from the instruments to the center console. Disadvantage: A real head-up display is left out – but thanks to the typically small steering wheel and high-positioned virtual instruments, we don’t really miss it. More than 500 kilograms of the five-seater vehicle is made from sustainable materials. Does Peugeot have chrome? That was yesterday. Peugeot e-3008 is equipped with numerous driver assistance systems. Electric comfort seats also provide long-distance suitability.

Range up to 700 km

Engine power is transferred to the road in four driving modes; depending on whether you want to be particularly efficient, normal, sporty or all-wheel drive. The e-3008 also offers three switchable recovery levels. With a larger battery pack and a capacity of 98 kilowatt hours (kWh), it offers a maximum range of up to 700 kilometers until the next charging stop, with a power of 230 hp (169 kW), called the long-range version. The other two electric versions have a range of 525 kilometers with a 73 kWh battery pack.

However, Stellantis continues to rely on its well-known 400-volt technology; Only the upcoming second electric platform for Stellantis’ luxury brands Alfa-Romeo, Jeep and Maserati will achieve twice as much success. The charging power of the E-3008 is 160 kilowatts (kW), which is much more than the 100 kW of the current Stellantis platform. Later, depending on the market, the Peugeot 3008 will also be available as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. There is no information on this yet and further technical data is still missing. But one thing is clear: the big brother Peugeot e-5008, which will be introduced early next year, will follow on the same platform. Prices are not yet known.
