Rolls-Royce is ending petrol

Rolls-Royce goes with the times: the British no longer release new combustion models. In return, the renowned manufacturer will be selling a luxury-class e-mobile from autumn. However, customers must be patient.

Rolls-Royce thrills top customers and will be selling an absolute luxury class e-mobile from the autumn: the British will market the already presented Specter for prices from 390,000 euros (equivalent to 381,000 francs).

The coupe, which weighs almost three tons and has doors that hinge in opposite directions, measures no less than 5.50 meters. Instead of the previously standard V12 engine, it is powered by two electric motors with a combined output of 430 kW/584 hp and 900 Nm.

The four-seater, weighing 2.9 tonnes, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the 102 kWh battery should allow a range of 500 kilometers and be able to be charged with a maximum of 195 kW.

The fact that the Specter costs twice as much as a BMW i7, with which it shares the drive technology and four-wheel steering, does not seem to bother customers: those who order today will not receive their car until the following year.

The next electric Rolls-Royce should be ready by then. After all, the British no longer want to present new combustion engines and will switch their range completely to rechargeable batteries by 2030, the company confirms.
