The reason lies in the nature of the electric drive. Electric motors deliver their maximum torque almost immediately as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed. There are no clutch or shift times and only low mass moments of inertia – unlike conventional internal combustion engines. These features allow very fast acceleration from a standstill and are also great fun for many drivers.

This ensures that the vehicle also offers good acceleration and sufficient power in such situations. The Dekra expert recommends checking the specific performance data, such as engine power, torque and top speed, to ensure that the chosen electric car meets individual requirements.
