FBI cybercrime specialists have been investigating the Russian-language ransomware gang LockBit for years, which has also attacked numerous companies in Switzerland.
With success: On Thursday, according to the US Department of Justice, charges were filed against a 20-year-old Russian citizen in the United States.
According to the indictment, the young man from Chechnya was involved in LockBit operations from at least August 2020 to March 2023. At least five cyber attacks on victims in the US, Asia, Europe and Africa have apparently managed to collect sufficient evidence.
