Microsoft wants to hire 100 more people in Switzerland and train young people

The tech group Microsoft plans to hire 100 additional employees in Switzerland next year. In the future, 700 instead of the previous 600 people will work in the cloud, as Catrin Hinkel, the boss of Microsoft Switzerland, said in an interview.

The new employees are intended for the branches in Zurich, Bern and Geneva, Hinkel told the “Sonntagszeitung”.

«Until now we offered commercial apprenticeships, but now we also train media technicians. We are also opening the door to some twenty university graduates and we are working closely with various Swiss universities.”

As an explanation of why Switzerland is important for the cloud business, Hinkel referred to the legal certainty surrounding data storage and the “ideal conditions for innovations”.
