The Swiss drivers in Formula E are still without a podium after 10 of the 16 races of the season. After all, Edoardo Mortara records his best result of this World Cup season with a sixth place in Jakarta.
A race to forget, experienced in the Indonesian capital Sébastien Buemi. The Vaud native of the Envision Racing team, twice fourth this year, drops from 13th position to the end of the field after a bad start. During the ensuing catch-up race, Buemi suffered a puncture while overtaking, resulting in him finishing the race in 20th. Nico Müller, who finished 11th, only missed the points by more than four tenths.
Wehrlein with third success
The winner for the third time this season was Germany’s Pascal Wehrlein in a Porsche. The former Sauber driver is now just two points behind Nick Cassidy, who leads from New Zealand. Buemi’s teammate has to settle for 7th place.
A second E-Prix will take place in Jakarta on Sunday. This will be followed by two more races each in Portland, Rome and London by the end of July. (SDA/SME)
