Campo Lameiro waterfall and Meaño descent, the busiest points
The 126 drivers of the Rally de Pontevedra look up at the sky. Rain has become the norm in this points event for the Galicia Rally Championship, which starts today in Sanxenxo and will cover Meaño, Cerdedo-Cotobade, Campo Lameiro and Moraña tomorrow over 113 kilometers. It is the race with the largest participation on the track and one of the most attractive for spectators. But what are the enjoyment points? From the team responsible for the organization, Congostra Team, there are seven locations in the four sections through which the rally passes. They are as follows:
Sanxenxo
two key stops
The Sanxenxo section is the first section of the rally with the largest number of participants in the Galicia Asphalt Championship. And there are two key locations so that viewers don’t miss anything. The first one will be inside kilometer point 1.6, in the highway tunnel, but there is another prominent place. At the height of the Mercadona roundabout, at the 4th kilometer of the stage, the cars will offer a skidding spectacle, as they have to turn around and return to the road towards Prague to Mar. The Sanxenxo track mixes asphalt and dirt for four kilometers.
piss
A mile downhill
The audience can be found in kilometer point 7 of the Meaño section enjoy a “narrow, dirty and fast” descent that ends at a dead-end intersection on the right. It is about a little more than a kilometer of descent, which in this edition will be driven in the opposite direction from the last edition, according to the person in charge of the safety of the test.
end in A pedreira
three kilometers back
The Meaño section is 9.4 kilometers long. It is the usual schedule that is maintained, but this time it will be driven in the opposite direction for the last three kilometers to the industrial area of A Pedreira, where this pass ends. The audience will have to pass through the vineyard area to the business park from where it will be possible to see this last part of the Meaño section. It is especially recommended for families because it is located next to the O Barreiro recreation area.
cerdedo-kotobade
Fast and connected zones
In the area of Cotobada, the organization points out two attractive points for motorcycle enthusiasts. The first is at the intersection for the Mama Lela restaurant, at the 4th kilometer, with a fast two-lane section that leads to the intersection on the right. To access another location, you need to walk between three and four kilometers from the N-541, where you can park your car. This approach on foot leads the viewer to an arrangement of very striking connected curves that make it possible to see one passage and, moving a few meters, witness the next.
Lameiro field
mythical jump
The Campo Lameiro section will be the last of each loop. It is an area that both competitors and the public have in mind for a slope change which was found in the last edition. The one known as Salto de Campo Lameiro is a favorite point to enjoy the Rally de Pontevedra. It is located in Armonda, 4.5 km. Its appeal has made many pilots sign up to enjoy it again. It used to be one of the places marked by spectators, who stood at the foot of the road, but the organization is asking that precautions be taken to avoid accidents.
Morana
Target crossing
It is the second municipality through which the last section of the Rally de Pontevedra passes. To enjoy the crossing before the finish, you must access it by road from the Troáns reservoir. It’s a dirty descent, with lots of gravel and leaves, which narrows and causes boats in cars. The descent ends at the left crossing before crossing the finish line that closes each loop.
A test of 113 kilometers and 126 pilots
Rain, the great enemy of the most numerous rally

A schedule of 113 kilometers in three laps and 126 pilots in the race. This is the letter of introduction to the Rally de Pontevedra that will start this afternoon in Sanxenx with a semi-urban section of 4.2 kilometers which will be the anticipation of Saturday’s day in which the remaining nine sections will be run. As usual, Víctor Senra leads the championship, followed by Alberto Meira and José Lamela, who will try to reduce the gap to the Dumbria driver to 123 points). Now they will have to defend these positions in the Pontevedra region. The Galician Automobile Federation sponsors the teams consisting of Alexis Viéitez and Cristian Álvarez and Marcos Maceiras and Sergio Iglesias.
After starting in Sanxenxo, tomorrow he will start in Meaño section of 9.4 kilometers that this year the direction changes in the last three kilometers. From this municipality, they will jump to the zone of Cerdedo-Cotobade, where they will travel 15.2 kilometers. It is the longest stage of the three and will have a fast stage with good asphalt at the start where the cars may have problems with the rain. The key to this section is in the final section where drivers will have to know how to calculate their speed well as there is a lot of inland and very steep downhills. But without a doubt, the appeal of this rally is in the third pass of each loop. Tour Campo Lameiro is 11.9 kilometers away in which the pitch change included last year and reissued this year is a pilot favorite. It has a very fast dual lane exit that allows vehicles to accelerate to the middle of the section, where the area narrows.
The pilot’s fear will be, for another year, the rain that threatens the emotion of the fifth edition of the Rally de Pontevedra.
