Coach Christian Wück’s team defeated France 5-4 on penalties in the final in Budapest, capping off an excellent tournament. 14 years ago, the later world champions Mario Götze, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Skhodran Mustafi also triumphed at the U17 European Championship.
